Which barcode formats are available?

CODE128 supports printable ASCII text. EAN-13 and UPC accept numeric values with valid lengths and checksums. Invalid input does not produce a barcode.

Does this assign a retail product number?

No. It renders the value you provide. Retail identifiers must be assigned through the appropriate process; scan-test your export before use.
